Maritime Arbitration


Valerio De Rossi is a Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Maritime Law and is available to accept appointments as an arbitrator on LMAA Terms in maritime and offshore disputes, subject to independence and the absence of conflicts of interest. His work focuses on disputes arising from offshore operations, marine contracts, and technically complex maritime matters, where technical and contractual issues intersect.

Maritime and offshore disputes often arise from operational decisions taken under conditions of uncertainty, time pressure, and evolving information. Effective dispute resolution requires an understanding not only of the legal framework, but also of the operational realities of maritime activity. Valerio De Rossi combines extensive maritime operational experience with academic training in maritime law and safety management. His professional background includes command at sea, senior roles in marine governance and risk management, and academic research in safety and human factors in high-risk environments. In addition to arbitration appointments, Valerio De Rossi may assist parties and legal advisers by providing technical insight into maritime operations and offshore activities. This may include assistance in relation to:
